How to Cope with A Long Distance Relationship
Are you in the middle of a passionate long distance relationship? It CAN be done, even though it is difficult. Everyone wants to be in a relationship at some point in their life, for happiness and sometimes for fulfillment. In fact, there is nothing better than being loved by someone that you adore. It is the best feeling in the world.
However, because the modern world is a digital age, increasing your social circle and field of desirable potential lovers is incredibly easy. Relationships can happen across the world between all different kinds of people. If you’re in a long distance relationship, it doesn’t immediately mean you’re at a disadvantage, though it can feel a lot harder than a traditional relationship. Here are a few tips on making the course of love run smoothly in this situation.

Keep Up a Constant Communication
When you’re in a long distance relationship, this will be most of what you can do. Communication comes in many forms however, and the good thing about instant messaging is that it can fit inside any kind of schedule.
Video calls are always a great way to let the other person know how you’re getting on as they’ll be able to see and hear you say it for yourself. It means a lot more than a few texts, though there’s nothing against those either!
But don’t let your communication with each other becoming possessive. It’s unlikely that even in a relationship with you both next to each other you’d be talking 24 hours a day. It’s good to know what your significant other is up to, but let your communication be casual and loving, and not overly invested in the other’s daily routine. When you have a long distance relationship, you need to take this into account.
Send Presents To Each Other
Who doesn’t love presents? These can be anything, from what you make yourself to something you’ve bought or earned and desperately want the other to have. Presents don’t even have to be shop bought and therefore won’t break the bank, unless you prefer this and think it’ll hold more sentimental value for you! This can help a long distance relationship come alive.
You can send flowers if you use an international postal service, with roses boxed up properly and prepared for long haul. Also, you can using something like a message in a bottle to send over a cutesy note or something bigger to your partner, which is both a great laugh and hugely sentimental. You can even stash a surprise in there! Maybe even a proposal…
Apply for A Marriage Visa If You’re Serious
Take this tip with a grain of salt. I am in no way suggesting that you should leap into marriage with someone you barely know. Having said that, I am a HUGE fan of marriage. Check out my post How to show love to your wife, tips for a happy marriage. Proper marriage, done for the right reasons can help to solidify your position with each other and make your relationship seem more concrete, to both yourself and anyone who doubts it. (Though their opinions don’t matter anyway!)
Applying for something like a prospective marriage visa means you’ll have a 9 month period to marry your fiance. It can be a wonderful surprise if you are both on the same page, and can really show your love for your partner by marrying them in their own country, or going away together to a place you both love. Just make sure you are familiar with the rules and regulations of the country you are getting married in and ensure you meet the proper criteria.
A long distance relationship can be done!
If your relationship takes a turn for the better, and one of your decides to propose to bring you both closer together, whether it be physically or emotionally, make sure you know what you need for the legal side of the proceedings. Do everything by the book and luck could be on your side. A long distance relationship can be a beautiful thing.
Good luck and let me know how you’re going in the comments below! Where are you, and where is your lover?
