Instagram influencers’ health tips | How the women of Instagram stay healthy
I have been thinking a lot about Instagram influencers’ health tips that I have seen online. Really, I am just getting into the platform now. Previously I haven’t been really interested in Instagram, as I am more of a ‘wordy’ person who likes to consume written content over videos and photos – but as with all platforms, Instagram is evolving and changing every day, and I am definitely seeing more “words” there these days.
One Instagram trend I am noticing now is that everyone seems to have an ‘inspiring’ message. The platform is almost aching under its own self-importance, and every influencer wants to tell you about how they drank this tea, or used this body scrub, or bought this body wrap that helped to change their lives. Some I believe, some I don’t! I am sure you feel the same (talk to me in the comments section, below this post).
Staying healthy doesn’t have to be about spending hours and hours at the gym, and healthy eating doesn’t have to mean salads and foods that you don’t enjoy. It can be about making some really easy changes to your day to day life. I looked at the advice of some of my favourite influencers to compile this list of Instagram influencers’ health tips for you.
Go #walking and #ditchthecar with @victoriabeeeks
Influencer @victoriabeeeks got quite a bit of love for this #walking post. Walking is such a great option as many of us unintentionally gain weight when we use a car every day. Even when we promise ourselves that we’ll still walk short distances, over time, we find ourselves driving more and more; it’s just so convenient! We drive to the shop that’s a 10 minute walk away even when the weather is nice.
You’d be amazed at how many more calories you would burn if you started to walk these short distances. You should be trying to do 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy and increase your fitness levels. Walk short distances or try going for a long walk after dinner every night. You’ll soon lose weight and start feeling healthier. Victoria went for a walk in Hyde Park in this lovely image (owned by her). A bit of rain and drizzle won’t slow her down!
Walking isn’t the only thing that you can do, however. No one is expecting you to walk to work if it’s miles away. Cycling to work every morning can give you a great cardio workout to start your day.
Try a #sugardetox with @ofermichal
Influencer @ofermichal has loads of healthy recipes on her page that have lower sugar versions of meals you love. Eating too much sugar is a leading cause of obesity and health issues like diabetes. Try to cut out sugary drinks and stop putting extra sugar into your coffee and tea. If you reduce the sugar in your hot drinks slowly over time, you might not even notice the difference in taste.
Then, start baking your own snacks. You’ll know exactly what is going into them, they’ll taste better, and you’ll be able to use alternatives to sugar. This influencer’s page has tons of great ideas for you to check out and you might find something new that you love.
Try to have an #earlybedtime with @fallskarrie
Influencer @fallskarrie is a family woman who shares posts about her beautiful young household. She knows that not getting enough sleep can increase your stress levels, affect your mood, make it hard to concentrate and focus, make you less likely to exercise and make it harder to maintain a healthy weight.
Getting eight hours of sleep has many benefits. But, many of us aren’t doing it. Even if we go to bed earlier, we lie awake worrying or playing on our phones. Even while checking Instagram!
Some tips you might start with are focused on getting into an evening routine. Don’t eat or drink for a few hours before dinner, cut your caffeine intake after dinner. Leave your phone in another room overnight and make sure you get some exercise in the day and you’ll soon start sleeping better. It can also be a good idea to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day to help your body adjust to a routine.
Focus on your #mentalhealth with @_monicaroseweight
How beautiful is @_monicaroseweight page? Her Instagram is full of beautiful, positive posts, which will make you feel sunny and happy inside. Our mental health should be as much of a consideration as our physical health. But, it often isn’t. We don’t talk about our problems, we bottle things up, and we don’t take the time to care for our mental health. If you want to live a healthier lifestyle, you need to start talking.
Spend time with people that make you happy, laugh, smile and talk about your problems and worries. Get into the habit of being more open with the people in your life. Take @_monicaroseweight into account and get out into the beautiful outdoors; try something new, and spend time with the people who love you and make you feel whole.
Aim to #drinkwater with @this_moonchild
Travel lover @this_moonchild is all about her water! Drinking water is the easiest way to be a healthier you, and she should know, as she is a flight attendant – one of the coolest (yet most dehydrating) jobs ever!
Your body is made up of vast amounts of water, but you lose it every day through sweating, crying and other bodily functions. To keep your body working at its best you need to restock your supplies.
Drinking lots of water will help your organs to work at their best, keep your skin looking bright and fresh, keep your hair and nails strong and help you to feel happier, more focused and more alert. Try to drink eight glasses a day, and take a bottle out with you to sip from. Take @this_moonchild advice and make sure you take lots of little sips throughout the day!
Instagram influencers’ health tips will work for you too!
Yep, they really will. Take the advice from all the women of Instagram I have featured here and stay healthy, the natural way, by doing the basics – walk, cut sugar, sleep, focus on mental health and drink more water. Tell me how you’re going in the comments below.
